2769 With the nice sunshine and cool air, SES had its Sports Carnival on
FridayNov.11th, 2011.
The theme that teamwork makes the dream work at SESID runs through the
sports carnival; all the activities are combined with foreign cultural
festival “Talk about Africa”, including many native African elements. In
addition, plenty of creative sports games are designed. Xu Hong, the
headmaster of SES participated in the sports carnival and made an
impassioned opening speech.
The sports carnival has three highlights.
The first one is the Marching-in ceremony integrating with African
elements. The Marching-in ceremony is like a series of musical plays. With
the local African music, the athletes from each class seemed to change into
the various creatures in Africa. Some were beautiful peacocks, African lions
and elephants; others were brave African warriors and high-spirited African
football players.
The second one is the typical song and dance accompanied by drumbeats
from South Africa. For the sports carnival, our school invited the local
African friends to put on the performance of ethnic style.
The third one is the sports activities showing team spirit. The game
“passing the ball across miles” was especially impressive. Good teamwork,
nice relay and grand occasion made the game extremely exciting.
After the activity, all the parents present spoke highly of the sports
carnival. We are looking forward to the next year!
